There is no need to add glucose to your diet as your body can actually generate glucose it needs by breaking down food molecules into carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. 

The average American consumes approximately 152 pounds of sugar in one year equivalent to 3 pounds or 6 cups of sugar consumed in one week. Nutritionists suggest reducing the amount of sugar consumed in their diet switching from sweetened sugar additives to diet foods containing low calorie or no calorie options. Excessive amounts of added sugar can be harmful to your metabolism and overall health. 

People are turning to artificial sweeteners as an alternative to consuming sugar in prepared foods and beverages. Safe sugar substitutes are erythritol, xylitol, stevia leaf extracts may help you maintain a healthy weight when consumed in moderation and can be beneficial for those who are monitoring their blood glucose levels in people with diabetes.
