Lavender genus Lavandula genus of about 30 species of plants in the mint family Lamiaceae is native to countries bordering the Mediterranean.  Aromatic lavender flourishes in the summer heat as a spectacular unique plant with silvery leaves seen as simple elegance and tightly branched stems topped with traditional blue spikes that make compact Provence Blue lavender distinctive.  Lavender is commonly grown in herb gardens for its aromatic fragrance, distinctive leaves, and flowers that permeate any garden space spreading out with spectacular bluish tones. Continue adding and whisking about 1⁄3 of the milk mixture then slowly add the tempered egg yolks back into the saucepan.  Cook the custard over medium-low heat, constantly whisking the ingredients until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon. Refrigerate the low fat sugar-free lavender custard overnight and process in an ice cream machine to freeze. Enjoy a rich creamy lavender ice cream as a special summertime treat!

Lavender is a genus of 30 known species of flowering plants in the mint family Lamiaceae as an evergreen shrub with narrow leaves and bluefish purple flowers. The narrow fragrant leaves and flowers are dried for use in potpourris, sachets, soap, and perfume.
