Soup is primarily a liquid food served hot or cold that can be made by combining various ingredients to make a specific soup stock including vegetable, beef, and chicken stock base combined with milk or water. The soup industry comprises products such as canned, and packaged wet soups dry bouillon, and microwavable soups for quick fix ready to eat options. Soups are considered a nutritious comfort food that helps keep people warm during the winter months. The global soup market was valued at USD 16.1 billion and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of (CAGR) 3.0 percent from 2019 to 2025. The industry was driven by the increasing demand of convenience foods and a growing awareness regarding the health benefits of soups in 2023. All soups are a delicious array of seasoned broths packed full of nutritious vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Soups are similar to stews that contain less liquid combined with hearty vegetables with shredded lean cuts of meats often served over a bowl of brown rice to create beef stew, chicken stew, or old fashion vegan stew made with soy meats. Homemade soups are especially nice during the winter months served as the perfect lunch or dinner weeknight meal. Reduce the heat to simmer and cover. Add a cup of cooked brown or long-grain rice to a soup bow. Ladle in 1 ½ cups of simmering stock broth on top of the rice. Place shredded cooked fish, chicken, beef, or tofu on top of the rice. Add thinly sliced vegetables of choice like mushrooms, sliced carrots, sliced asparagus, and sliced chives around the bowl. Chicken broth can be made by adding 10 cups of water, 2 roughly chopped carrots, 2 celery sticks with leaves, 1 onion, and one whole chicken rinsed and dried. Place the pot on the stove then bring the heat up to a boil then reduce the heat to medium heat. Place the lid on the pot.


Cook the chicken broth for 2 hours and 15 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F until done. Strain the liquid over a large bowl to remove the meat and vegetables. Save the chicken meat removing any bone fragments from the meat. Discard the bones. Refine straining the liquid straining the liquid over the cheesecloth to remove any particles. The chicken broth liquid will be golden in color ready for any chicken soup recipe.
